Tactical Squads are the mainstay of the Space Marine Legions and the force by which the Great Crusade reconquered much of the galaxy. Formed of Legionaries bearing devastating bolters, and led by experienced Tactical sergeants armed with even more impressive wargear, Legion Tactical squads were at the forefront of almost every notable battle in the Horus Heresy.
Although later variations of Space Marine power armour boasted significant improvements to MKIV ‘Maximus’ armour, many Sons of Horus continued to favour it for its incredible durability – a necessary quality when it came to outlasting those sworn to the Warmaster’s banner.
